Dorian love’s Jesus and wants to see His Kingdom (His life and purpose) infiltrate every sector of society.
That starts in his own life and the life of his wife Belinda (who lives to see lives transformed through music and worship), and in the lives of their 2 children Alexandra and Dominic.
God has primarily called him to serve Him in the marketplace. As the Executive Chairman of Umbono Capital, which develops businesses in natural resources (mining, energy, and agriculture), they have built a portfolio of assets that have the potential to bring about transformation at a national level.
Umbono’s vision as stewards is to see these assets applied in a way that sees the wealth they create, trickle down beneficially to every single citizen of Africa.
As the CEO of PeCo Power – the developer of off-grid electrification and load shedding solutions – he hopes to see millions of lives transformed through the provision of cheap, safe, and reliable sources of renewable energy. In partnership with local churches, PeCo Power has developed a Community Franchise Model that will disciple people into the kingdom and create 10s of 1000s of jobs across Africa.
In addition, Dorian serves as an elder and executive of Every Nation Church Johannesburg. He loves the local Church and wants to see it fulfill its mandate – equipping Christians to effectively build God’s Kingdom in the specific sphere he has placed each of them into. In 1991 Dorian and Belinda were sent from Cape Town to plant the 2nd His People Christian Church in South Africa (now Every Nation), on the University of the Witwatersrand.
Dorian also serves as a founder and trustee of the Inhlakanipho Education and Development Trust (which puts underprivileged learners through some of South Africa’s best high schools) and Leaders in Transformation which equips university students and marketplace leaders with a Biblical Worldview and a passion to serve Christ. Both of these trusts are beneficiaries and shareholders of Umbono Capital.
More recently he has embarked on the process of raising capital for a Kingdom Investment Private Equity fund. This fund will partner with SMMEs that are owned and run by marketplace leaders who are committed to building businesses according to God’s blueprint.
Finally, he loves cycling and spends as much time as God and his family permit, enjoying this beautiful country (South Africa), his great friends, and good coffee. All the necessary ingredients that go along with the pleasure one experiences on a bicycle.
